1. Graeme Clark

Graeme Milton Clark (born August 16, 1935) is an Australian medical researcher. He developed the Cochlear Implant, also known as the Bionic Ear, a revolutionary device that restores partial hearing to individuals with severe hearing loss or deafness. Clark's groundbreaking work in the field of cochlear implants has made a significant impact on the lives of many people worldwide.

2. Florence Broadhurst

Florence Maud Broadhurst (1899–1977) was an influential Australian wallpaper and textile designer. Born in The Basin, she later moved to the United Kingdom before returning to Australia to establish her own design business. Broadhurst's vibrant and colorful designs, influenced by Asian and European aesthetics, gained tremendous recognition both locally and internationally.

3. Andrew Bogut

Andrew Bogut (born November 28, 1984) is a professional Australian basketball player. He is known for his successful career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and his contributions to the Australian national basketball team. Bogut, a talented center, has represented various NBA teams, including the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors, and Cleveland Cavaliers, throughout his career.

4. Bruce Reid

Bruce Andrew Reid (born March 14, 1963) is a former Australian cricketer. Reid was a left-arm fast-medium bowler who enjoyed a successful career in the 1980s and early 1990s. He represented the Australian national cricket team in both Test and One Day International matches, impressing with his pace and skill on the field.

5. Daniel Vettori

Daniel Luca Vettori (born January 27, 1979) is a retired New Zealand cricketer of Italian descent. While not born in The Basin, Vettori spent a significant part of his formative years in the suburb. He is considered one of the finest left-arm spinners in the history of cricket, having achieved numerous accolades during his playing career, including captaining the New Zealand cricket team.

6. Diana Burleigh

Diana Burleigh (1907–1983) was an Australian botanist and ecologist known for her research on Australian flora, particularly eucalyptus species. She made significant contributions to the understanding and taxonomy of eucalypts, publishing extensively on the topic. Burleigh's work continues to be highly regarded in the field of botany.

7. Horrie Clover

Horace "Horrie" Clover (1895–1971) was a professional Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Clover was known for his exceptional goal-kicking ability and played a major role in Carlton's success during the 1920s. He is considered one of the best full-forwards of his time.

8. Reg Grundy

Reginald Roy Grundy AC OBE (1923–2016) was an Australian businessman and media mogul. Although not born in The Basin, Grundy lived in the suburb for many years. He is best known as the creator and producer of numerous highly successful television game shows, including "Neighbours," "Wheel of Fortune," and "Sale of the Century." Grundy's contribution to the entertainment industry is widely recognized.

9. Peter Russell-Clarke

Peter Russell-Clarke (born October 15, 1935) is an Australian artist, chef, television presenter, and author. Known for his vibrant personality and passion for cooking, Russell-Clarke hosted the popular television show "Come and Get It" in the 1980s, which focused on easy and economical recipes. He has published several cookbooks and remains a beloved figure in Australian culinary culture.

10. Michelle Cowan

Michelle Cowan (born June 8, 1974) is an Australian rules football coach. She became the first female coach in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and has worked with several AFL clubs. Cowan's contributions to promoting gender equality in the sport have been widely acknowledged, and she continues to inspire young women pursuing careers in football.
